Welcome to Siambaan.com, The Krachang Yai Guest House, Kantharalak, Ubon Ratchathani, Sisaket, Thailand
The name, Siambaan, comes from Siam, the old name for Thailand, whilst Baan is the Thai word that means house.
If you like the bright lights, night life and gaudy tourist scene, then this place is not for you. If you are the type of person who likes to experience the real Thailand as seen through the eyes of the locals then the Kranchang Yai Guest House is the prefect place to base yourself.
The Guest House is located less than 30
Kilometers from the Cambodian border and the
Khoa Phra Vihan National Park and
the
ancient temple complex. There is
also a new crossing into Cambodia which is located approx 60
Kilometers from us and puts you only 160 Kilometers by road from the
world heritage site of
Ankor Wat
Cambodia. Although the road is currently recommended for 4 Wheel
Drive vehicles (the trip takes about 6 hours) we can arrange a
vehicle and driver from the Thai side to take you there, a definite
must for the more adventurous traveler interested in seeing the real
Cambodia on the way to the huge ancient temple complex of
Ankor Wat.
For those who like a little less physical excitement there is the Chong Chom crossing complete with two Casino Hotels on the Cambodian side! There are border crossings into Laos within 80-100 Kilometer radius of the Guesthouse Chong Mek crossing within easy striking distance of the City of Paxi Laos. Buses now run twice a day from Ubon Ratchathani to Paxi."
Owned and Managed by Gary and Su, this
family business offers four star rooms, Fitness Gym, Spa, Sauna,
Private Balconies, Swimming Pool and shaded tropical common areas for
the family minded or adventurous individual alike.
Operated in the traditional Thai "Guest House" Style, this Boutique Hotel has no waiters or formal staff on hand but here are plenty of friendly locals and family to see that your experience is a pleasant and one that you will remember for many years to come.
The Thai hospitality and culture is renowned for its depth, having a history in excess of 2000 years to develop. Just simply sitting down and enjoying a meal with the locals is an experience in itself. As in most of Asia, food plays a central role in Thai Culture and is one aspect of the area not to be missed.
Please come and join us and experience a side of Thai Life that few get the chance to see.
